Calling in Your People
A series of one-on-one and group sessions where we clarify your vision for family and community support and prepare your loved ones — whoever you invite to be part of your direct support system — to hold and love you with confidence through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
You deserve to feel supported without anxiety or hesitation. The people who love you are ready to show up for you — these sessions offer you all a chance to come together and clearly define what your ideal support system looks and feels like.
What Our Sessions Together Might Look Like
We begin with your voice. In our first session, you sit down with your loved ones — whoever you’ve invited into this circle — and speak your vision for birth and postpartum out loud, perhaps for the first time in this way. This is where we start building the shared language your people will carry forward.
From there, our second session is a gentle, grounded introduction to what pregnancy, birth and postpartum support really look like, so your people aren’t walking in guessing.
Next, we get hands-on. In our third session, we practice together — real tools, real touch, real presence, so your people leave with more than good intentions. They leave with capability.
And because support doesn’t end at birth, our fourth session turns toward postpartum — helping your circle understand how to show up for you in those early days and weeks, when the needs shift and the village matters most.
What Your People Often Need
Your people love you. What they often lack isn’t love, but preparation: knowing what to say, what not to say, when to step in, and when to simply hold space (if even that is an unfamiliar role, we can work on what it even means to truly hold space). Together, we give them the tools to become the support you need — not just the support they assume you want.
This isn’t about managing your village. It’s about welcoming them in, with confidence in your vision for the sacred journey ahead.
Where This Comes From
This offering isn’t in place of working with a doula — it’s in service of something my own doula training taught me: that the goal, ultimately, is to work ourselves out of a job. Not because the support a doula offers isn’t real or valuable — I’ve built some of the most trusting, meaningful relationships of my life with my clients through this work — but because that same depth of care was never meant to live only in a professional role. It belongs, first, to the people who already love you.
For some, that’s a parent. For others, a sister, an auntie, a chosen friend. Calling In Your People is about helping those relationships hold what they’re capable of holding — so that when the moment comes, you’re surrounded not by strangers learning your needs for the first time, but by the people who already know your heart. This is an additional layer of support for your support system. I offer guidance and a resource your people can turn to so that you can exhale into your own experience.
During my second birth, I called in three dear friends who I love and whose relationships offer me warmth and grounding. The majority of them had never been to a birth, but it was their love and presence that I needed, not years of experience in the birth room. Being held, witnessed, and supported by them was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. It’s a vulnerable thing, to ask the people closest to us to show up for something this raw and sacred. And it is also, I’ve learned, one of the most rewarding.
I’m here for both — the professional support you desire, and the community support we all deserve. This offering exists to help you bring your vision of birth and postpartum to life with the loving, caring, and well-informed support of your people.
